Leading the pack was Fortnite, the online battle royale mainstay, which accounted for 9.3% of all playtime across platforms—a slight uptick from 9.1% in 2023, despite the game being more than seven years old.

Overall, gamers stuck to the tried and true. The three most-played games in 2024–Fortnite, Minecraft, and Roblox–are all more than seven years old, yet continue to dominate thanks to their expansive social and user-generated worlds.

All six titles have strong online multiplayer or co-op elements. Roblox, Minecraft, and Fortnite are especially popular among younger players and are available across multiple platforms, including mobile, PC and consoles.

Together, the six most-played games last year made up nearly one-quarter of all playtime across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
