The Big Three: India, Taiwan, and Israel

India, Taiwan, and Israel lead the ranking. In common, these economies combine deep technical talent pools, strong diaspora networks, and close ties to U.S. venture and capital markets. Founders from these countries have built outsized presences in software, semiconductors, cybersecurity, and trading.

Russia, Greece, and Italy add three each, rounding out the region’s footprint. This wide distribution nearly matches Asia’s count, but is spread across more countries.

The Long Tail and Regional Patterns

Canada (9) and China (8) are major contributors in the Americas and Asia, respectively, while the Middle East adds 21 across Israel (11), Iran (6), Lebanon (2), and Türkiye (2). Africa contributes four (Nigeria and South Africa, two each), and Australia adds two from Oceania.

Notably, 22 countries contribute a single billionaire each, illustrating the reach of global migration into U.S. wealth.
