A senior official from North Korea warns of the possibility of conflict with south Korea that could lead to World War Three. It comes days after the last remaining truly communist country on the planet tested its first Hydrogen bomb. South Korea has been blasting loud propaganda messages across its borders with the north. This has antagonized the communist north which is already in a heightened state of insecurity with the south after its underground H-bomb test of a few days ago.

Russian Airstrikes Hit Market And Prison In Northern Syria, Scores Killed

Russian airstrikes on a town in northern Syria have killed at least 40 people, according to local activists. Middle East Eye reports: The attack on the market in the Idlib city of Maarrat al-Nu’man, famed as the home of the blind 11th century poet Al-Ma’arri, took place on Saturday morning. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that Russian air strikes also hit a prison complex near the market run by al-Qaeda’s Syrian affiliate al-Nusra Front. The building reportedly housed the group’s religious court and a jail.

When pollsters asked people three decades ago how they felt about the National Rifle Association, 27% said they strongly supported the gun lobby. By last month, that share had grown 38%, an 11-point increase. Meanwhile, the share that didn’t side with the NRA declined.

 

UK Foreign Secretary Refuses To Condemn Mass Saudi Executions

The UK foreign secretary has been accused of “parroting the propaganda” of Britain’s Middle East ally as he refused to condemn the mass execution of 47 people in Saudi Arabia. When asked whether London should be “more robust” in condemning the Saudi executions, Philip Hammond said: “Let us be clear, first of all, that these people were convicted terrorists.” Rights campaigners say that at least four of the 47, including the Saudi Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr, were arrested and executed in relation to political protests.
