In what will come as music from above to Steve Bannon, as well as numerous Donald Trump supporters who just happen to have a less than soft spot for his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, the WSJ reports that "some" of the US President's lawyers concluded earlier this summer that Jared Kushner should step down as senior White House adviser due to "possible legal complications" emerging from the ongoing Russia probe, and aired such concerns directly to the president, according to WSJ sources. 

Just one day after we found out that FBI agents 'raided' former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort's Alexandria home on July 26th, we learn that Special Counsel Mueller has also been going after Manafort's family in order gather dirt on a person they clearly view as a material witness.  According to Politico's anonymous sources (and you know what that means), Manafort's son-in-law, Jeffrey Yohai, was approached earlier this summer regarding his "business deals" with Manafort.

Donald Trump Jr. and former Trump campaign chair, Paul Manafort, are set to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee in a public hearing next Wednesday, the committee announced.  The Senate judiciary committee hearing, entitled “Oversight of the Foreign Agents Registration Act and Attempts to Influence U.S. Elections: Lessons Learned from Current and Prior Administrations”, will take place on July 26. 

Despite Kelly and McMaster both brushing off Kushner's 'Russian back-channel' story as standard practice for new administrations, increasing controversy surrounding the president's son-in-law have reportedly prompted senior advisers to suggest it's time for Kushner to "take a step back."

After McMaster's comments brushing off the WaPo story as a non-story, DHS' Kelly did the reounds of Sunday political shows this morning confirming Kushner's back-channeling is "both normal and acceptable"...
