A video was captured of a sinkhole opening in the middle of a California road. GeoBeats News reports: Sinkholes are bad enough when they open up in yards and in fields, but on Monday afternoon one formed in the middle of a Madera, California street, reports KCRA. Area police shared video of the void as it grew from a relatively small crack to a gaping chasm. Pieces of Schnoor Avenue continued to fold into a sewage line until a roughly 12 foot by 15 foot opening had formed. Authorities estimate the sinkhole is upwards of 20 feet deep and believe recent rains spurred the collapse.
