The US plans to deploy its High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) on Turkey’s border with Syria next month, according to the Turkish Foreign Minister. Mevlut Cavusoglu told local media that the US rocket launcher system is to combat ISIS terrorists. The deployment in May is part of an agreement with Washington to seal off the bordering Manbji region in Aleppo Province, northern Syria. RT reports: “We have come to an agreement with the US regarding closing down the Manbij area,” the Turkish foreign minister told the Haberturk newspaper while visiting Saudi Arabia.

There’s a lot wrong with Jim VandeHei’s weird op-ed about a possible agenda for an independent presidential candidate, but this seemed especially deplorable:

In a recent column Dennis Prager made an acute observation. “The vast majority of leading conservative writers … have a secular outlook on life. … They are unaware of the disaster that godlessness in the West has led to.”

These secular conservatives may think that “America can survive the death of God and religion,” writes Prager, but they are wrong. And, indeed, the last half-century seems to bear him out.
