The Department of Homeland Security has finally reached a decision in the long-delayed process of selecting contractors who will build prototypes of President Donald Trump’s promised border wall. The department announced Thursday that it has selected four contractors to build wall prototypes, and that construction is slated to begin this winter, according to CNN.
After coming under constant attack from the White House in recent weeks, Senator Jeff Flake of Arizona seems to be launching a renewed counteroffensive against President Trump. In speaking with Georgia Public Broadcasting earlier today, Senator Flake said that with the way Trump's governing and the "direction he's headed right now, just kinda drilling down on the base rather than trying to expand the base, I think he's inviting [a primary challenger]." Undermining the Federal Reserve received a major boost yesterday.
Arizona Governor Doug Ducey signed into law a bill that eliminates capital gains taxes on gold and silver, thus allowing Arizona residents to use precious metals as currency instead of Federal Reserve notes.
Sound money advocates scored a major victory on Wednesday, when the Arizona state senate voted 16-13 to remove all income taxation of precious metals at the state level. The measure heads to Governor Doug Ducey, who is expected to sign it into law.
Under House Bill 2014, introduced by Representative Mark Finchem (R-Tucson), Arizona taxpayers will simply back out all precious metals “gains” and “losses” reported on their federal tax returns from the calculation of their Arizona adjusted gross income (AGI).
In the latest setback for the world's most valuable private company which in recent weeks has been reeling from multiple crises, on Friday a self-driving Uber vehicle was involved in a crash in Tempe Arizona, which left the Volvo SUV stranded on its side. According to ABC15, a car failed to yield to the autonomous SUV and hit it, authorities said. The self-driving vehicle then rolled onto its side.
