Turkish MP Tweets ‘May Your Kingdom Be Damned’ Following Brussels Attacks

Following the Brussels terrorist attacks on Tuesday, two MPs from Turkey made shocking remarks on Twitter, mocking Belgium and the rest of Europe.  Kaan Albur, from Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) shared a photograph of the Brussels airport shortly after the attacks which was joined by a photo of a  pro-Kurdish tent with Kurdistan Worker’s Party flags on it set up next to the EU council building in Brussels. Albur commented:  “Life is like a boomerang, what you do will return to you”.

Footage Purporting To Show Brussels Explosions Was Shot In 2011

CCTV that was reported to be taken from from the deadly Brussels Airport explosions, appears to be fake. Footage that was said to show the Zaventem Airport explosion is remarkably similar a video that shows the moment a bomb attack took place at Domodedovo Airport in Russia in 2011. But as the Independent reports: the clip, which shows people walking before they duck and flee following an explosion, has been widely shared on social media since the Brussels blasts took place on Tuesday morning.

Stocks Stumble As Fed Hawks Tamp Down Terror-Attack Exuberance

Belgian PM Charles Michel said earlier that "this is the deadliest attack on Brussels ever," and as we noted in this morning's pre-open wrap:

This morning's Brussels bomb attacks have led to risk-off sentiment across European asset classes, with Bunds higher and equities firmly in the red, although if the Paris terrorist attacks of November are any indication, today's tragic events may be just the catalyst the S&P500 needs to surge back to all time highs

Syria Says Brussels Attacks Resulted From ‘Wrong Policies’

A Syrian Foreign Ministry official  strongly condemned the Brussels attacks but added that they were the inevitable result of  “wrong policies” from certain countries and a “tolerance for terrorism” to achieve certain agendas. The ministry urged the international community to exert all efforts to counter the threat of terror and stop the flow of support to the jihadi groups in Syria.
