Johnson & Johnson Ordered To Pay $55 Million In Second Cancer Case

Big Pharma giant Johnson & Johnson has lost another legal battle in a row over its talcum powder which allegedly causes cancer. The company have been ordered pay $55 million to a woman who says she got ovarian cancer after using the product. The latest ruling comes less than four months after Johnson & Johnson lost a $72 million case in the same St. Louis, Missouri, court where they were ordered to pay $5 million in compensation and $50 million in punitive damages to Gloria Ristesund.

British Scientists Conclude Cancer Is A Modern Man-Made Disease

Scientists at the University of Manchester in the UK have announced that cancer is a modern-day, man-made disease after studying mummies, fossils and classical literature.  According to the team of scientists, cancer is fuelled exclusively by the excesses of modern life, and tumors were rare up until very recently when pollution and poor diets became a health concern. Anonhq.com reports: In the study of Egyptian mummies, for example, the researchers found no signs of cancer in many of them—with the exception of one isolated case.

Why Don’t The Amish Get Cancer?

A recent study published in the journal Cancer Causes and Control has revealed that Amish people have virtually no cancer within their population, and are considered the most healthy people in America.  Researchers from Ohio State University originally launched a study on the Amish population to see whether rates of cancer would be higher due to their lack of conventional medical care. What they found, however, shocked them.

Study links Splenda (Sucralose) To Leukemia

An Italian study has linked the artificial sweetener Sucralose, sold as Splenda, to higher risks for leukemia. Researchers say that people should not be using the artificial sweetener, warning of an increased risk for leukemia, as well as an overall risk for cancer. UPI reports: Scientists found Splenda significantly increased the risk for leukemia, as well as other cancers, research that is in line with other studies in recent years.

Cancer Rates Soar To Scary Levels Near New York Nuclear Power Plant

Authorities near the Indian Point nuclear power plant have said that cancer rates in the surrounding areas have soared to disturbing levels.  Vicki Fox, teacher of social studies at Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School close to the nuclear plant, revealed she has seen a rise in thyroid cancers among pupils and staff: “My name is Vicki Fox, I’m a middle school teacher at a school that is just a few miles from Indian Point… I really can’t tell you how many teachers and students I’ve met there over the years who are survivors of cancer — specifically thyroid cancer.
