It’s not surprising that so many people believe the idea that global warming is being caused almost entirely by human activity, given the fact that most scientists seem to believe the same thing. But scientists should probably ask themselves why there is still such a large cohort of “deniers” as they like to call them, who are adamant that anthropogenic climate change is a scam.

Hurricane Harvey, which until this morning a Tropical Storm, is now set to be the first hurricane to strike the Texas coast since 2008. According to the NHS, which issued a hurricane warning from Port Mansfield to Matagorda, TX including Corpus Christi, Harvey is "rapidly intensifying", and is forecast to be a "major hurricane."

Energy traders who had hoped to make an easy profit by betting that spot electricity prices would climb around midday on Monday – an idea they may have found on this website - were bitterly disappointed when, instead of spiking, prices tumbled because of an unexpectedly large drop in demand.
