A new study has revealed that fracking wastewater contains compounds that can cause hormone deformities in those that consume it.  Researchers say that water from a fracking disposal facility in west Virginia contained high levels of endocrine disruption activity. Environmentalhealthnews.org reports: The study, published today in the journal Science of the Total Environment, adds to evidence that some chemicals in hydraulic fracturing waste are hormone-mimickers or blockers and are leaching out of wastewater disposal wells and into nearby water, potentially impacting fish and human health.

An ancient planet believed to have wiped out life on Earth millions of years ago is heading in our direction once again according to a top scientist.  Planet Nine – a planet discovered at the edge of our solar system this January – has already triggered comet showers that are capable of “bombing the Earth’s surface”, killing all life, according to Daniel Whitmire of the University of Louisiana. According to Whitmire, an apocalyptic shower could happen as earlier as this month, and certainly this year.

The elite and wealthy in Tokyo are evacuating en masse due to dangerous levels of radiation following the Fukushima meltdown.  One nuclear expert has warned people that they should not only leave Tokyo, but evacuate Japan altogether if they have the financial means to do so. Venezuela have declared that every Friday in the months of April and May will be a public holiday, in a bid to save electricity amid a prolonged drought in the country.  President Nicolas Maduro unveiled the 60-day plan on Thursday, urging large shopping malls and hotels to generate their own electricity for nine hours each day. Bloomberg.com reports: Heavy industries operating in the country will be asked to cut consumption by 20 percent, he said.

When Mars was being bombarded with giant asteroids and comets over four billion years ago, the giant space rocks were enhancing the climate. A new study from the University of Colorado Boulder says that the comets and asteroids actually enhanced the climate enough to make Mars’ environment more conductive to life for a time. According to NBC News: The bombardment occurred during a period known as the Late Heavy Bombardment, which was about 3.9 billion years ago when the solar system was developing.
