The event which according to many democrats cost Hillary Clinton the election (aside from Putin personally hacking the brains of several million middle-class Americans and forcing them to vote against Hillary, of course) is finally getting closure. On Thursday, the FBI turned over 7,000 new documents from Anthony Weiner’s private laptop to the State Department as part of a Judicial Watch's freedom of information act lawsuit related to last year's Hillary Clinton email case.

Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein suggested he was uncomfortable with former FBI director James Comey’s decision to leak contents of a memo detailing an encounter between him and President Donald Trump where the president – according to Comey’s interpretation of events – pressured him to drop an FBI investigation into former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn.

Just over a month ago, we expressed amazement at just how sophisticated, efficient and pervasive the 'Russian hacking' community had become after CNN reported - citing unnamed government officials of course - that they had managed to hack into a Qatari News Agency and post a 'fake' news story all in an attempt to drive a wedge between the U.S., Qatar and some of it's Gulf Arab neighbors, one which culminated - at least according to the CNN narrative - with the Qatari crisis in which an alliance of Arab states led by Saudi Arabia isolated and blockaded the nat gas rich nation.

One day after The Hill reported that "more than half" of Comey's leaked memos of his conversations with Donald Trump contained classified information, the Columbia University Law School professor, confidant of former FBI Director James Comey, and ultimately leaker to the NYT has spoken up, and in taking another page out of Hillary Clinton's playbook, countered the accusation that Comey violated FBI protocol because none of the memos were marked classified.

When we discussed late Sunday's blockbuster report by The Hill, according to which as part of his leak of personal recollections of his conversations with Trump in hopes of (successfully) launching a special probe into the president's alleged Russian collusion, former FBI director James Comey also allegedly disclosed classified information in direct violation of FBI rules and regulations, we said "for an appetizer of what's to come, look closely at Trump's twitter feed once the president learns the news of Comey's alleged transgressions."
