McCabe Crushes 'Trump Interference' Narrative: "There Has Been No Effort To Impede Our Investigation"

As predicted, members of the Senate Intelligence Committee came out swinging early today with several questions for acting FBI Director McCabe on whether the Trump administration was actively seeking to impede an investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.  Unfortunately, McCabe's answers will undoubtedly be somewhat disappointing for Democrats and CNN.

In an early exchange with Senator Marco Rubio, McCabe offered a very succinct answer on alleged White House interference with ongoing FBI investigations:

Trump Reportedly Considering Former Congressman Mike Rogers As FBI Director

According to a White House official, Bloomberg is reporting that President Donald Trump is considering Mike Rogers, a former congressman and FBI agent from Michigan, to replace James Comey as FBI director.

Rogers, 53, a former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, retired from Congress in 2015 after seven terms to pursue a career in talk radio.

Two days after Trump's termination of James Comey, more details about the circumstances of Comey's departure continue to emerge and the most dramatic highlight from this morning's news wrap comes from the WaPo, which reports that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein - the man who was instrumental in arranging Comey's termination - may not stay at the DOJ much longer.

James Comey Releases Farewell Letter

Taking the generous way out, former FBI Director James Comey sent a farewell letter on Wednesday to friends and agents, in which he notes he does not bear a grudge and notes that "a President can fire an FBI Director for any reason, or for no reason at all" and adds that "I'm not going to spend time on the decision or the way it was executed. I hope you won't either. It is done, and I will be fine, although I will miss you and the mission deeply."
