As the WSJ adds, the Greek "agreement" merely unlocks a key disbursement of bailout fund but puts a decision on debt relief off until next year. Specifically, the agreement reached in Luxembourg among the finance ministers of the eurozone unlocks €8.5 billion for Greece and puts off a final decision on debt relief until August of next year.
Greece should be about to get a credit upgrade to investment
grade from non-investment grade and the markets seem ill prepared for this
positive development.
The Obama administration played an important role to make sure Greece remains in the eurozone, former Vice President Joe Biden said. As KeepTalkingGreece.com reports, in an interview to newspaper Kathimerini, Biden said that he was personally involved in the issue and described the efforts and difficulties he faced to avoid the financial collapse of Greece.
A Greek drama rarely ends after just one act or scene and although the recent new bailout talks haven’t really been extensively covered by the media, the Greek population will once again have to make sacrifices to make sure the country gets more bailout money.
