Comedian Victoria Wood Dies Aged 62

The British comedian Victoria Wood passed away after a short battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family, her publicist Neil Reading confirmed saying: “The multi Bafta award-winning writer, director, actor and comedian died peacefully at her north London home with family this morning. She was 62. The family ask for privacy at this very sad time.” Victoria who was born in Prestwich, Lancashire started her career in 1974 when she won the ATV talent show New Faces.

Surge In Babies Being Born With Extra Limbs In Post-Fukushima Japan

Local residents are reporting a marked increase in serious birth defects five years after the nuclear accident at Fukushima. There are reports of a surge of babies are being born with extra arms and legs, a high rise in the numbers of still births and many are also reporting an increase in cancers, both near and far away from Fukushima. But due to a continuous coverup by Japanese authorities and the media, along with a severe lack of scientific studies being performed, very little information on the subject is reaching the public.

World’s Oldest Message In A Bottle Washes Up Ashore After 108 Years At Sea

A message on a postcard inside a glass bottle thrown into the sea by a Plymouth biologist in 1906 and recovered in Germany has been confirmed by Guinness World Records as the world’s oldest message-in-a-bottle. Metro reports: The historic message was sent by George Parker Bidder between 1904 and 1906 – along with a postcard and the promise of a shilling to the finder. It was eventually picked up in April last year by retired post office worker Marianne Winkler who was holidaying on the island of Amrum, off the north coast of Germany.
