Monsanto Loses Lawsuit, Pays $46 Million To Poisoned Victims

Monsanto have been found guilty of gross negligence by selling poisonous PCBs to members of the public, some of whom died as a result.  The agrochemical and agricultural biotechnology giant has been forced to pay a total of $46 million in damages to plaintiffs in the case. A St. Louis jury voted 10-2 in finding Monsanto, Pfizer, Solutia, and Pharmacia guilty in the selling of polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs, after the compound had been banned.

Glee Actor Mark Salling Charged With Child Pornography Offences

Former “Glee” star Mark Salling was indicted on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography by a federal grand jury on Friday. The Wrap reports: Salling, known for playing Noah “Puck” Puckerman on the popular Fox musical series, was arrested in December by the LAPD Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. A search warrant issued for the actor’s residence reportedly uncovered as many as 1000 images depicting minors simulating sexual acts. The photos were allegedly spread across a laptop and flash drive.

Paedophile Prompted Evacuation After Attempting Suicide With Oven Bomb

A paedophile prompted a large-scale evacuation in Essex when he attempted to kill himself by ‘cooking’ a bomb in his oven to avoid prison. More than 300 residents were forced to flee their homes for eight hours after Ian Shingler called police to say he had explosives and was going to commit suicide. Around 100 Met Police officers rushed to the paedophile’s top-floor flat in Rainham, Essex, to lock it down, after Shingler said he was planning to blow himself up because he was terrified of going to prison.
