A 19-year-old was fatally shot in the early hours of Saturday morning when a Chicago police officer discharged his weapon at the scene of a disturbance in West Garfield Park on Chicago’s West Side. abc7 reports: The shooting happened at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday near West Erie Street and North Kilpatrick Avenue, officials said. One of the victims was 19-year-old Quintonio LeGrier, who she said was in college studying engineering, but had a mental illness, said his mother, Janet Cooksey.

I am always enamored by reading the lives of some special people who thankfully become aware of injustices - whether to animals or to people and try to rectify them. Elizabeth Fink would turn her gifts to trying to address what she perceived as an injustice to the Atticus prisoners after the revolt of 1971.

The US Senate has a history of confirming justices that have contempt for black life.The legislative branch clearly have greater percentages of legislators that have the sickness and are detriment by choice to the hopes and dreams of Black Americans
