Trump may have made some political hay out of all this, but one only has to follow the money to learn the real reason pro football ratings are down - competition from college football.

As the NY Post points out today, the embattled league saw ratings dip 6.3% in Week 11 meaning 1 million fewer people tuned in to see players take a knee during the national anthem versus last year.

The NFL announced Saturday that there isn’t going to be any change to its national anthem policy, despite an escalating boycott of games over Veterans Day weekend.
The Facebook page “Boycott the NFL” has asked all its followers to celebrate Veterans Day weekend by refusing to watch NFL games “in solidarity with veterans around the country,” given that players are still engaging in national anthem protests and NFL policy remains the same, The Washington Times reports.
When the award-winning author of “The Big Short,” “The Blind Side” and “Moneyball,” stopped by Yahoo Finance yesterday to discuss his latest book, “The Undoing Project,” he was predictably asked for his next "Big Short" idea. And, after downplaying the value of his opinion, and those of everyone else for that matter, Lewis offered up a rather surprising answer: "The NFL."
