In a speech given in Elkhart, Indiana on Wednesday, President Obama called for a strengthening social security, and even expanding the benefits of the program.

The Islamic State (ISIS) has been making up for its oil profit losses by increasing the taxes it levies on the people living on territory it still controls.

Terrorism experts Jean-Charles Brisard and Damien Martinez from the Center for the Analysis of Terrorism concluded in their report on Wednesday that "ISIS's military defeat is not imminent... as things stand, ISIS economic collapse remains some way off in the mid-term."

As we reported yesterday citing a former Bill Clinton politcal staffer and advisor, Douglas Schoen, it is looking increasingly likely that Hillary may be replaced by Joe Biden at the Demoratic presidential convention. As the main catalyst, Schoen cited the outcome of the California presidential primary.  As he writes, "the inevitability behind Mrs. Clinton’s nomination will be in large measure eviscerated if she loses the June 7 California primary to Bernie Sanders. That could well happen."

The British labour leader has promised to veto the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) deal between the EU and US due to concerns over “irreversible” privatization and “watered down consumer rights.” Jeremy Corbyn has vowed to stop the adoption of the deal if he is elected prime minister before it is completed.
