Al Jazeera Presenter Corners Saudi Ambassador - "Why Support Democracy In Syria But Not Saudi Arabia?"

This past week, Al Jazeera presenter Mehdi Hasan sat down with Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the UN. He asked him a very pointed question regarding why he supports democracy in Syria but not in Saudi Arabia.

It’s a great question, and let’s just say the answer was not at all convincing.

Erdogan Threatens Belgium: “We’ll Send More Terrorists Your Way”

Turkish President Erdogan has bragged about sending one of the terrorist bombers to Belgium, blaming authorities in Europe for failing to realise he was dangerous.  Bakraoui was arrested in Turkey in 2015 and upon realising that he was a terrorist, rather than jail him as Erdogan does with journalists and personal detractors, the Turkish leader chose to send him to Belgium instead.

Edward Snowden: Brussels Attacks Were Preventable

Whistleblower Edward Snowden claims the Brussels attacks were preventable as Belgian authorities knew from their Turkish counterparts that the men behind the attacks were known terrorists. Daily Sabah reports: Speaking at a panel on privacy via video conference, published by The Intercept, Snowden said that the attack was preventable through traditional means, not mass surveillance. Snowden’s comments came about as he was criticizing the western governments’ mass surveillance programs on citizens.
