A senior official from North Korea warns of the possibility of conflict with south Korea that could lead to World War Three. It comes days after the last remaining truly communist country on the planet tested its first Hydrogen bomb. South Korea has been blasting loud propaganda messages across its borders with the north. This has antagonized the communist north which is already in a heightened state of insecurity with the south after its underground H-bomb test of a few days ago.

Back in August, the Korean Peninsula nearly plunged back into war when Kim Jong-Un reached his limit with the anti-North propaganda being blasted across the DMZ by loudspeakers installed by the South.

When pollsters asked people three decades ago how they felt about the National Rifle Association, 27% said they strongly supported the gun lobby. By last month, that share had grown 38%, an 11-point increase. Meanwhile, the share that didn’t side with the NRA declined.

 

After the San Bernardino Terrorist attacks, a new law has been passed by US lawmakers that amended the visa waiver program in order to provide enhanced security. The new law, known as HR 158, restricts a group of people and certain nationalities from automatically gaining access to US soil without a thorough background check. While the US tries to combat the threat posed by the Islamic State, it could at the same time be hindering its own progress in opening up to a whole group of moderate Muslims.

Over the last several days, more information has come to light with regard to the wave of sexual assaults that occurred across Europe on New Year’s Eve.

What some observers initially assumed was an set of isolated attacks in Cologne’s city center now appears to have been a bloc-wide phenomenon as women from Austria, to Switzerland, to Finland come forward to report being accosted by what some police say were gangs of drunken Mid-East asylum seekers.
