Russians are concerned about Washington’s arbitrary closing of their San Francisco consulate and the illegal searching of diplomatic properties. There is no question that Washington has violated diplomatic protections and international law.
Why did Washington show its outlaw face to the world?
It appears the Democrats' plan - derided earlier by Paul Ryan - to keep any 'fix' for the debt-ceiling, short-term; has worked. Bloomberg reports that President Trump and Congress have agreed on a Harvey Aid, Debt-Limit extension continuing resolution through Dec 15th. T-Bill yields confirmed their earlier plunge and gold is tumbling on the short-term can-kicking effort.
In yet another attempt at de-escalation by the US, moments ago as president Trump was leaving the White House, he responded to a reporter question on whether there will be military action in North Korea, saying that "it's not his first choice", but adding that "we'll see what happens."
With a several month debt ceiling extension now practically guaranteed absent some last minute diplomatic fiasco, moments ago the US House approved an $8 billion in Hurricane Harvey relief aid.

President Trump spoke yesterday with UK Prime Minister Theresa Theresa May about North Korea and "agreed that this latest reckless act only strengthens the world’s determination to confront" growing threat from that nation, according to White House readout, adding that "now is not the time to talk to North Korea."
