Step aside Edward Snowden: the world has another leaking NSA contractor to obsess with, if only for the next 15 minutes.

As reported earlier, Reality Leigh Winner is the 25-year-old woman who stole “Top secret” documents from the National Security Agency and leaked them to The Intercept, "confirming" that the Russian military intelligence GRU was behind an attempt to hack more than 100 local election officials.

There may be more here, however, than meets the eye.

First, dome details on her background.

For the past decade, gun sales have spiked massively ahead each of the past three presidential elections as people have feared that increasingly 'progressive' liberal candidates, from Obama in 2008/2012 to Hillary and Bernie in 2016, would enact stiffer gun reforms that would make it nearly impossible to purchase firearms.  That fear of future regulation turned out to be one of the biggest boons for gun manufacturers in history as everyone (and their mothers) suddenly realized they had a pressing need for multiple AR-15s.

Earlier this afternoon, the Intercept reported that according to a "top secret NSA document", Russian Military Intelligence "executed a cyberattack on at least one U.S. voting software supplier and sent spear-phishing emails to more than 100 local election officials days before election."

What Bernie Sanders proved to the world in 2016 is that socialism is a fairly popular idea in the United States, a country that was founded and built on the back of free market principles.
