Having been dealt a number of legal defeats at the hands of Obama-appointed judges in the early days of his administration, Trump is preparing to fill roughly 120 vacancies on lower federal courts around the country. The first of those new appointments will come later today in the first slate of 10 nominees, which will be followed by "monthly waves of nominations" according to a White House official quoted by the New York Times.
It's fairly safe to say that General Michael Flynn did not fare well in today's testimony from former DNI Director Clapper and Former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates.
Very early in today's testimony, Yates confirmed that she reached out the the White House counsel regarding General Flynn after it appeared, based on comments made in the media by the Vice President, that he had lied to VP Pence about his past interactions with Russian officials. The confetti were still littering Paris from Macron's celebration event on Sunday night when the 39-year-old Frenchman became the youngest president in French history, and already he met with one of the biggest challenges facing his new administration: a population, mostly among the local labor unions, that is unwilling to accept any if not all of the proposed economic reforms, and made this abundantly clear on Monday by clashing in violent protests across Paris with the local riot police.

President Trump is about to embark on his first foreign trip, where he will stop in Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the Vatican, before attending a NATO meeting in Brussels and the G-7 summit in Sicily. The media and pundits have loudly wondered why hasn’t he gone on a foreign trip sooner. I wonder why go at all?
