North Korea has threatened nuclear strikes on the US and South Korea as the two begin their biggest ever military drills. Pyongyang issued a statement ordering a “pre-emptive nuclear strike of justice” unless the joint military drills off the Korean Peninsula, involving more than 300,000 South Korean and 15,000 American troops, are halted. The joint exercises, Key Resolve and Foal Eagle, due to start on Monday are an annual event that always generates tension. RT reports: The exercise involves conducting amphibious operations for possible wartime missions.

There was fury in Seoul after North Korea took the war on words to a new level calling the South’s president a “crazy old bitch.” The remarks from Pyongyang came in response to President Park Geun-hye calling Kim Jong-un’s rule in the North an “extreme reign of terror.” Seoul’s Unification Ministry said on Sunday: “We express strong regret over… the North’s personal attacks that targeted our head of state with such base, vulgar language” RT reports: The latest headlines in the Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of North Korea’s ruling communist party, described 64-year-old South Korea’s

Kim Jong-un has claimed that North Korea is prepared to detonate its H-bomb which would completely obliterate the whole of the US “all at once”. North Korean KCNA news agency claim that “The scientists and technicians of the DPRK are in high spirit to detonate H-bombs … capable of wiping out the whole territory of the US all at once“.

Back in August, the Korean Peninsula nearly plunged back into war when Kim Jong-Un reached his limit with the anti-North propaganda being blasted across the DMZ by loudspeakers installed by the South.

Britain’s foreign ministry  has summoned Hyon Hak Bong, the North Korean ambassador in London, to stress condemnation of Pyongyang’s reported nuclear test. Pyongyang said it had tested hydrogen bomb as a deterrent to curb potential aggression from the United States. “I summoned North Korea’s Ambassador today to stress in the strongest terms the UK’s condemnation of their nuclear test” minister Hugo Swire said in a Foreign Office statement. He added that the test violated U.N. Security Council resolutions.
