On Wednesday, French riot police used tear gas against protesters trying to block the removal of migrants from an empty Paris high school. The school had been under renovation and was occupied by migrants for the past two weeks. Times Live reports: Protesters, some masked and hooded, had formed a human chain around the high school in the north of the French capital to try to prevent police entering in the early morning raid. Demonstrators pelted the police with objects and chanted “everyone hates the police”, an AFP journalist saw.

Former Australian Priest Gets 29 Years In Jail For Child Sex Abuse

A former Catholic priest has been sentenced to 29 years in prison for sexually abusing twelve children between 1979 and 1988. John Joseph Farrell, 62, was convicted in Sydney District Court on Monday for sexual crimes he had committed over nearly a decade in the towns of Moree, Armidale and Tamworth in New South Wales. Press TV reports: Farrell was found guilty of exploiting his position, taking advantage of the victims for a long period and committing 62 offenses, including rape and indecent assaults against three girls and nine boys at the time.
