With its markedly ironic title, The Ministry of Truth in George Orwell's dystopian novel, 1984, is one of the most important agencies of the government. For, as enotes.com writes, an uninformed or misinformed populace can be confused, deceived, and directed easily by controlling powers. Keeping the people confused about who is at war with whom and what is the reality of things causes them to become involved in nothing and, therefore, no threat to the power structure.

The Narrative says that only right-wing nuts are against Science™. Well, consider the frankly horrifying case of Dr. Kenneth Zucker, as reported by Jesse Singal in New York magazine. Excerpts:

With the highest per capita rate of sheltered asylum seekers in Europe, Sweden has become something of a poster child for migrant mischief.

In the wake of the sexual assaults that swept the bloc on New Year’s Eve, the world is suddenly focused on Sweden, where some say police conspired to cover up a series of attacks that allegedly occurred in central Stockholm’s Kungsträdgården last August and where a 22-year-old aid worker was recently stabbed to death by a Somali migrant.

The British Medical Journal (BMJ) have officially recognised that antidepressants, including the use of SSRI’s, risks the lives of  mental health patients that take them.  In a paper published by Professor Peter C Gotzsche, entitled “Suicidality and aggression during antidepressant treatment: systematic review and meta-analyses based on clinical study reports,” Gotzsche concludes that after studying 18,526 patients, those who were prescribed antidepressant medication had an increased risk of suicide and aggression.
