A Nintendo Product Marketing Specialist has publicly advocated pedophilia in a shocking social media rant, arguing for the “legalization of child pornography” and a relaxation on consent laws between children and adults. Ms Rapp says she is a “Product Marketing Specialist at Nintendo of America” specializing in “Public Relations and Communications” on her LinkedIn profile and Twitter, and has been very vocal on the cultural criticism of manga and gaming in Japanese culture. Her piece can be boiled down to three points; that the consequences of consuming media containing child pornography are exaggerated, that child pornography constitutes free speech, and that Japan’s laws are a byproduct of cultural imperialism from the West.
