A Lykoi or “Werewolf Cat” has been found under a bush in South Africa. The rare kitten, one of only 35 in the world was found by the Tears Animal Rescue feral cat team hiding under a bush in Cape Town. Tears reports: The only naturally-born South African Lykoi or ‘Wolf Cat’ on record was discovered by the TEARS Animal Rescue Feral Cat team in The Company’s Garden in Cape Town.
A Home Office decision to deport 92 year old widow has sparked public outcry. Myrtle Cothill is unable to care for herself and was hoping to stay in the UK with her daughter, but instead has been ordered to return to her native South Africa. Update: Following the massive public outcry Myrtle has won a “stay of execution” after the Home Office cancelled a planned deportation According to the Guardian, immigration enforcement officials had booked Cothill on a Virgin flight to Johannesburg on Tuesday night but rang her lawyers late on Friday to say her booking had been cancelled.
Eddie Izzard will take to the roads again attempting to run 27 marathons in just 27 days for charity. The brilliant 54-year-old bag of laughs will run the marathon event in South Africa in temperatures of up to 30C. He is planning to raise money for BBC’s Sport Relief without taking any days off in-between his runs. May god have mercy on him and his knees as he tries again.
