Syrian Army Unearth Dozens Of ISIS Victims In Palmyra Mass Grave

The Syrian army has unearthed a mass grave containing  at least 40 corpses in Palmyra city Many of the victims were women and children who had been tortured and butchered by ISIS in the recently liberated ancient city. RT reports: The grave was discovered by engineers and “popular defense forces” in the Masakin al-Jahizia neighborhood of the city, which lies only 500 meters from the ancient ruins, SANA reports. So far the army has recovered 25 corpses. Among those killed by IS were three children and five females.

US State Department Equivocal On Palmyra’s Imminent Liberation

US Department deputy spokesman Mark Toner seemed indifferent to the imminent liberation of the ancient city of Palmyra by the Syrian army from the hands of Islamic State. The Syrian army with the help of Russian military support is on the verge of taking back what is left of the historical city. The US shows no enthusiasm that the “jewel in the desert” is about to be freed from ISIS. Russia Today reports: Backed by Russian warplanes, Syrian troops managed to enter the historic city on Thursday.

Syrian Forces Hours Away From Capturing Ancient Palmyra From ISIS

The Syrian army is 850 meters away from retaking the ancient city of Palmyra in central Syria which has been systematically destroyed by the Islamic State/IS/ISIS. The city has become encircled by Syrian troops aided by Russian helicopters targeting armored ISIS vehicles. China Xinhua reports: The Syrian force also used motorcycles in their attack on the IS in Palmyra due to the geographical nature of that area.

Syrian Army Seize Israel And US-Made Weapons Destined For ISIS

The Syrian army have seized two trucks loaded with US and Israel-made weapons destined for ISIS militants in Sweida, Syria.  The troops say the weapons include 20 RPG shells,  landmines, 90 anti-tanks, BKS machinegun boxes, and various types of ammunition. Sott.net reports: The cargos of militants’ weapons and ammunition, including RPG, landmines and various types of ammunition, were seized by the Syrian army in two separate operation in the Eastern and Northeastern deserts of Sweida province.

ISIL’s Top Saudi Female Commander Killed In Hasaka, North East Syria

The Saudi ringleader of ISIL’s female fighters was killed in clashes with the Syrian army and Kurdish forces in the Hasaka province on Friday. Rima al-Jarish was the media coordinator of ISIL’s al-Khansa Battalion in al-Shadadi town in Hasaka province. Fars News reports: Al-Jarish was wife of a Saudi inmate and mother of an ISIL commander who left Saudi Arabia for Syria in 2014 to join the ISIL.
