US Experts Warn North Korea Could Conduct Another Missile Test "Within Days", Yields Hit Day's Low

A day after local Japanese media reported that their government had detected a signal from North Korea suggesting that the country is preparing for another ballistic missile launch – what would be its first in more than two months, snapping the longest stretch of calm this year – Reuters is reporting that US officials believe the North could stage another missile test any day now.

Russia scrambled a Su-30 fighter jet after detecting an American ?8? Poseidon reconnaissance aircraft over the Black Sea, according to a Defense Ministry statement. The US spy plane was approaching at high speed to the Russian border, the ministry said. The Russian fighter jet buzzed the US Navy reconnaissance plane at around 1pm local time (10:00 GMT) as it was flying over the neutral waters of the Black Sea, the ministry said.

The previously retired air raid warning sirens from the Cold War era in Hawaii will be wailing again come December. Only this time, it’s due to the rising tensions between the United States and North Korea.

Hawaii has long been a military defense outpost, sparking fears that North Korea could target the island.

 “I suppose that’s necessary as a precaution,” said Ted Tsukiyama, a Hawaiian resident, and WWII veteran.
