Military Deployed As Anarchists Take To Streets In Brazil

Authorities in Brazil are on the verge of declaring a state of emergency as anarchists have taken to the streets amid an ongoing police strike.  Over 100 people have been killed in the Brazilian state of Espirito Santo, as hundreds of military patrol the streets in order to try and keep order amongst the millions of citizens. Yahoo News reports: “We cannot establish definite motives for these killings at this time as the crisis is still ongoing,” said Gustavo Tenorio, a spokesman for the police union.

Angela Merkel Vows To Make Germany ‘Nuclear Superpower’

German chancellor Angela Merkel has vowed to make Germany Europe’s number 1 nuclear superpower over fears that the US will leave NATO.  According to Merkel, Germany will begin the process of acquiring nuclear weapons so that it has a nuclear arsenal that can compete with Russia. Express.co.uk reports: Roderich Kiesewetter, a senior MP from Angela Merkel’s CDU party and foreign policy spokesman, has also called for Germany to take a leading role in the EU becoming a nuclear superpower.

Trump Is ‘Seriously’ Considering Moving US Embassy To Jerusalem

Donald Trump says he is “thinking seriously” about moving the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem al-Quds. In an interview with Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom on Friday, the US president said that he is studying the relocation plan, stressing it is not an easy decision to make. There are fears that such a move could spark renewed violence in Israel and the Muslim world, and risks showing the US is no longer interested in pursuing a two-state solution. The holy city is contested by the Palestinians and Israel, who both claim it as their capital.

Air-Force Test-Launches Minuteman ICBM From California

The rattling of sabres grows ever louder. Military.com reports that the Air Force says an unarmed Minuteman 3 missile has been launched from California's central coast in the latest test of the intercontinental system.

The missile blasted off at 11:39 p.m. PDT Wednesday from Vandenberg Air Force Base northwest of Los Angeles.

The Air Force says the missile carried test re-entry vehicles that headed for a target area 4,200 miles away to the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands in the Pacific Ocean.
