The mindlessness is unbearable. Amnesty International tells us that we must “fight the Muslim ban” because Trump’s bigotry is wrecking lives. Anthony Dimaggio at CounterPunch says Trump should be impeached because his Islamophobia is a threat to the Constitution. This is not to single out these two as the mindlessness is everywhere among those whose worldview is defined by Identity Politics.

Following last night's deadly shooting at a Quebec City mosque which killed six people and wounded eight, two suspects were under arrest and according to press reports have been identified: one is a French-Canadian and the other was of Moroccan heritage. One suspect was identified as Alexandre Bissonnette, a French-Canadian, the other as Mohamed Khadir, who is of Moroccan heritage although his nationality was not immediately known.

Mikhail Gorbachev warns of the possibility of an imminent global conflict. “it all looks as if the world is preparing for war,” he warned on Friday. Gorbachev was the last of the Soviet leaders and the winner of the 1990 Nobel Peace Prize. He says: “In modern world, wars must be outlawed, because none of the global problems we are facing can be resolved by war…“ Mikhail Gorbachev freed the Soviet Union from the shackles of communism and extended a hand of friendship to the west.

A new bill being proposed by Congress will allow the U.S. to pre-emptively attack Iran in order to prevent them obtaining nuclear weapons.  H.J.Res.10, introduced in the House at the beginning of January, gives the US Armed Forces the ability to launch airstrikes against Iran without any Congressional oversight or input. Ronpaullibertyreport.com reports: The title of the bill tells the tale: a bill “To authorize the use of the United States Armed Forces to achieve the goal of preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.” This legislation, introduced by Rep.
