Israel have seized one of the largest Palestinian land plots in the West Bank, taking control of over 580 acres of land in an area south of Jericho. The anti-settlement NGO Peace Now say that Israel plan to expand nearby Jewish settlements and build tourist and commercial related facilities in the area soon. “Instead of trying to clam the situation, the government is adding fuel to the fire and sending a clear message to Palestinians, as well as to Israelis, that it has no intention to work towards peace and two states,” they said.
