New Orleans Footballer Will Smith Shot Dead In Road Rage Attack

American Footballer and Super Bowl winner for the New Orleans Saints, Will Smith, 34, was shot and killed by a driver in a road rage attack after getting involved in a minor traffic accident. The former defensive end was driving with his wife when his car was rear-ended by his attacker who then pulled out a gun and started firing during the altercation over the accident. Smith’s wife was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds to the leg. The attacker, 28-year-old Cardell Hayes, is in custody on second degree murder charges. The Daily Mail reports: Smith, 34, a 2010 Super Bowl winner, was on his way home from dinner when he was rear-ended by 28-year-old Cardell Hayes, who was driving an H2 Hummer, according to the Advocate. The impact caused Smith’s Mercedes Benz SUV to rear-end the Chevy Impala in front of him, driven by his friend, according to CBS News. Smith then walked over to confront Hayes and the two men exchanged words, NOLA.com reported.
