Riot Police Clash With Far Right ‘Fascists’ At Brussels Shrine

Belgian riot police used water cannon on shaven headed right wing protestors at a temporary shrine honoring the victims of the Brussels attacks. Hundreds of people had assembled at the Place de la Bourse to peacefully remember the 31 victims of Tuesday’s terror attacks, when hundreds of men, some wearing masks and balaclavas, barged to the centre and hijacked the peaceful rally. Some members of the group were seen making Nazi salutes confronting ethnic minority groups and throwing flares. Skinheads reportedly turned up “in force” and started a major confrontation with the peace protesters The Star reports: Police used water cannon when scuffles broke out in front of the Bourse, which has become a symbolic rallying point for people to pay their respects to those who died in Tuesday’s attacks. Black clad men carrying an anti-Daesh group banner with an expletive on it trampled parts of the shrine, shouting Nazi slogans.
