In the latest conflagration involving a Tesla car unexpectedly bursting into flames, a Model S burned to a crisp after an accident on an Austrian highway on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Tiroler Tageszeitung, a Tesla Model S had an accident on the Arlberg Expressway (S16) in Pians.

The 19-year-old driver from Innsbruck was traveling towards Bludenz around 1 pm on Tuesday. Entering a construction zone on the highway, the 19-year-old driver shifted from the local to the fast lane, at which point the car lost control and hit the concrete divider wall along the side of the road. A moment later the electric car burst into flames.

The young woman driver managed to get out just in time; she suffered unknown injuries and was sent to Zams hospital.

According to Krone, the crash resulted "in considerable traffic restrictions."

The fire brigade arrived at the scene, however as the following photos show, there was little to salvage as the car completely burned down.
