Well, there is a reason why it sounds like the word ‘difficult.’ This bacteria is hard to treat! Many of its strains can easily resist antibiotics. If you get infected with C. difficile, you can get watery bacteria. The worst thing that can happen to you is a colon inflammation that can be life-threatening. In fact, the mortality percentage associated with C. difficile ranges from 7 to 48 percent, according to a study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
