For The Third Straight Month, The US Killed More Syrian Civilians Than Russia

March was the deadliest month ever recorded by Airwars during the Coalition’s campaign in Iraq and Syria. This coincided with the greatest number of munitions dropped by the allies so far in the war. The high number of alleged incidents across both countries forced Airwars temporarily to pause its full vetting of Russian airstrikes in order to keep pace with the reported Coalition toll.

 

Assad’s Army To Confront ISIS With Russia

Assad’s military forces have entered the province of Raqqa in order to confront ISIS for the first time since 2014.  Syrian regime forces alongside Russian forces have entered Raqqa with the aim of eliminating ISIS’ Syrian headquarters and regaining control of the area. Syrian Army Advances Towards The ISIS Capital Raqqa

Syrian army and paramilitary forces are moving into the ISIS capital of Raqqa in Syria. Syrian army units are seizing strategical areas along the Salamiyah-Raqqa road as they head into the Islamic State stronghold. Islamic State Militant Kills Own Mother In Public For ISIS

An Islamic State militant has publicly executed his own mother after she advised him to leave ISIS, in the city of Raqqa, according to a Syrian human rights group. The Guardian reports: The woman, in her 40s, had reportedly warned her son that a US-backed alliance would wipe out Isis and had encouraged him to leave the city with her. She was detained after he informed the group of her comments, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a British-based group that monitors the war through a network of sources on the ground.
