In the latest sign that America’s looming pension crisis is inching closer to an all-our collapse that will inevitably end in a series of bailouts – or worse, the failure to pay out retiree’s coveted benefits - a handful of California cities are lashing out at CALPers after being forced to hike pension contributions to offset expectations for long-term returns that have been revised lower by the state pension system.

After several failed Calexit attempts over the past several months (see: CalExit 3.0: New Petition Calls For Cali Secession...3rd Time's A Charm?), tech billionaire Tim Draper is pursuing yet another major shakeup in the Golden State.  According to the New York Times, Draper is convinced that a state of 40 million people is simply "ungovernable" and has filed paperwork seeking a ballot initiative that would split it into 3 distinct states.

Two days after former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon warned that California may attempt to secede from the US over the next decade if Republicans failed to reassume control of the state, the state’s attorney general played down speculation that the state would make a credible attempt at leaving the US in the coming years.

Freed of any need to be marginally politically-correct, former Trump chief strategist Steve Bannon took his fight to the Republican establishment during a speech to a capacity crowd at an almost oxymoronic California Republican Party convention.

But were kept behind steel barricades on a plaza across an entrance road at the hotel and no arrests were made, as Bannon blasted former President George W. Bush for 'embarrassing himself' for his comments suggesting a Trump America led to 'nativism' and 'casual cruelty.'
