Although the extent to which oil-related funding has sustained ISIS over the past couple of years is highly contested, it’s undeniable that the collapse in prices has had a negative cash flow impact on the terror threat du jour. As such, how’s the group sustaining itself in the fact of such a major cash crunch? According to a UK inquiry, we can thank donations from America’s Persian Gulf “allies.”

The Islamic State terrorist group released a video on Wednesday claiming responsibility for the slaughter of dozens of Syrian journalists and media activists labelling them as spies of the ‘crusader coalition’. ABNA 24 reports: The ISIS-linked Al-Khair Media Center in Syria’s eastern Deir ez-Zor province released a short film documenting the execution of more than 100 Syrian media workers at the hands of ISIS fighters.

Syrian government forces have made rapid progress in liberating eastern parts of the Homs province and have forced ISIS militants and their families to evacuate from the ancient city of Palmyra . Alalam reports: “The Takfiri terrorists have launched an evacuation operation in Palmyra and are rapidly transferring their families from the city to al-Sakhanah East of Homs or to Raqqa province,” the sources said.

ISIS gunmen staged a mutiny near their de facto capital of Raqqa on Monday killing one of their own senior commanders in northern Syria. Tunisian jihadi Abu Ali al-Tunisi, commander of the military wing of ISIS’ northern Syria branch, was killed by disgruntled jihadi fighters under his charge as the terror group is wracked by internecine fighting, according to Kurdish news reports.

It looks like Twitter is at war with online hacktivists waging war on ISIS. According to Twitter the enemy of ISIS is my enemy. Twitter has banned online activists from taking on the Islamic State (#OpISIS campaign) by suspending their accounts instead of the accounts of  ISIS supporters’, under “anti-harassment” rules. Russia Today reports: An Anonymous hacker made the claims after Twitter said it suspended 125,000 accounts for “threatening or promoting terrorist acts, primarily related to ISIS” since mid-2015.
