A major Nor'easter threatens to shut down travel due to heavy snow and strong winds from Washington, D.C., to New York City and Boston early this week, as weather forecasters on Sunday put the U.S. East Coast on a blizzard watch, warning some 50 million people of potential snowfall from 12 to 18 inches, coupled with wind blasts in some areas from Monday night into Wednesday. New York City issued a snow alert for Monday night, preparing its fleet of snow plows to deal with the fallout.

There may have been much more to the termination of US attorney for the Southern District of New York, Preet Bharara, than meets the casual glance.

The speculation over whether Trump would or would not fire the US attorney for the Southern District of New York, Preet Bharara, who earlier reportedly said he would not resign on his own, came to a close a 2:29pm ET when Preet Bharara, tweeting from his private Twitter account, announced he had been fired.

"I did not resign. Moments ago I was fired. Being the US Attorney in SDNY will forever be the greatest honor of my professional life."

Following yesterday's report that the DOJ has asked all 46 remaining Obama-appointed US attorney to resign, there was confusion whether that also included the noted attorney for the Southern District of New York, Preet Bharara.  As we discussed on Friday, Trump had previously asked the Obama-appointed Manhattan attorney to stay on.

In what appears to be an effort to quell the fear rising in the 'legal' immigrant community about President Trump's 'illegal' immigration policies, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio - not one to shy away from scare-mongering that very fear into 'legal' immigrants - has leaflet-bombed the city's public schools reassuring 'immigrants' that they will not be bothered by President Trump’s 'illegal' immigration efforts.
