A chilling glimpse of life under ISIL in Syria was exposed to western journalists when they visited the northern town of al-Shadadi. The ISIL stronghold was recently liberated by Kurdish-led fighters of the Syria Democratic Forces (SDF). Euro News reports: One resident pointed out makeshift gallows. Elsewhere amid the destruction, bombs and explosives are found in the street and in buildings. Many of the abandoned houses contained bunkers and escape tunnels. The team from Britain’s Sky News was also shown a hotel said to have been used by the extremists to assault women.

The FBI have said that as part of their criminal investigation against Hillary Clinton they have lined up a witness that could potentially destroy her chances of becoming President.  Former Clinton IT specialist Bryan Pagliano has told FBI officers about how the home email system was set-up, and according to FBI sources they say his testimony make him a “devastating witness” against Hillary: The source said Pagliano told the FBI who had access to the former secretary of state’s system – as well as when – and what devices were used, amounting to a roadmap for investigators.

Shortly after beginning his speech at a rally in Dayton, Ohio, Donald Trump was rapidly surrounded by Secret Service agents after an audience member grew increasingly raucous to the point of Trump appearing to duck at hearing a noise.

The UK is to deploy more troops to Iraq to help train Iraqi forces as they prepare for a new offensive against ISIS. Defence Secretary Michael Fallon said on Saturday that Britain would send 30 extra troops to provide training in logistics and bridge-building as well as specialist medical staff.
