One of the curious aspects of the GOP campaign is that John Kasich has not done better, especially in the northeastern or mid-Atlantic states where “moderate Republicanism” still has a political resonance. David Drucker contemplated the surprising Kasich weakness and cited one strategist who concluded “Kasich has proven there is no market for a defiant left of center Republican.”
On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton picked up where she left off last week, winning the Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware primaries, failing only in Rhode Island. Looking at the map, Bernie Sanders’ candidacy is an exercise in futility; staring at the delegate count it’s more like the impossible dream.
Ted Cruz got his biggest loser speech in early this evening, just before the polls closed at 8pmET, jabbing at Trump being "Hillary's running mate" and "the only candidate that Hillary could beat." Ironically, Cruz blamed the media for getting excited about Trump's victories tonight...

Today we see five states hold the presidential primaries, the so-called "Acela Primary" as most of the states up for grabs fall along Amtrak’s Acela train line between Washington, D.C., and Connecticut, and with Hillary comfortable, and Trump looking for a sweep as he surges on the back of yet another failed "stop-trump" attempt, there should be no real surprises when polls close this evening.
Everything is going wrong for the GOP establishment. Yesterday, 'the alliance' broke down within hours of being conjured into life, and today the anti-Trump-ers face disaster as a new NBC poll shows Donald Trump has reached 50 percent support from Republicans and Republican-leaners nationally for the first time since the campaign began.
