Russia Has Abandoned U.S. Military Agreement Over Syria

Russia is no longer cooperating with the U.S. by keeping to an agreed flight safety protocol over the skies of Syria, according to new analysis The U.S. has accused Russia of abandoning a memorandum of understanding agreement after starting its air campaign in Syria by allowing its warplanes to carry out “simulated attacks” on American jets. The U.S. views the Russian action of sending two Su-24 strike aircraft to within 30ft of one of its destroyers in the Baltic last week as “aggressive” and “unsafe” while Russia views the recent deployment of U.S. combat jets near Syria as a threat.

Second ISIS Drone Shot Down In 24 Hours Over Anbar

ISIS militants are using drone warfare more widely in Iraq and Syria as the group comes under increasing military pressure from all sides. The Iraqi army in western Anbar has shot down its second ISIS unmanned aerial vehicle during the past 24 hours, according to a senior commander.  Abna24 reports: The commander of Anbar Operations Command, General Ismail al-Mahalawi, said in a press statement that the Iraqi soldiers shot down an ISIL UAV by medium and light weapons over al-Ameriyat, 23 km South of Fallujah.

Obama Sends More Troops To Iraq; Authorizes Use Of Apache Helicopters; Gives $415 Million To Local Army

Back in 2014 Obama promised that as part of the US war against ISIS, there would be "no ground troops in Iraq." Moments ago U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter gave the latest confirmation that Obama was not being exactly "honest", when during a visit to Baghdad in which he met U.S. commanders, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, and Iraqi Defence Minister Khaled al-Obeidi, he announced that the US would send another 200 additional troops, raising the number of U.S. troops in Iraq to about 4,100.
