The U.S. government have announced plans to make it illegal for anybody to own a mobile home, or tiny house, without a special license – in a bid to eradicate offgrid living in America. Following on from local governments around the country criminalizing private rainwater collection, the federal government now want home owners to obtain a special license from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) authority to verifiy that their home conforms to the same standards that recreational vehicles (RV’s) are required to have. Wakingscience.com reports: HUD is seeking to regulate tiny house living out of existence or to turn it into a regulated industry by requiring that tiny homes be manufactured in factories, conforming to codified standards.
