North Korea Launches Ballistic Missile, Tests Trump

With the news cycle clearly far less interested in Trump's golf game or Abe's handicap, just before 8am local time (6pm ET), North Korea decided to provide CNN with some "exciting" news when it fired a ballistic missile into the sea off its east coast, South Korea's military said, in what was the latest test of Trump's resolve to retaliate to North Korean provocations.

Following North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's New Year’s message that preparations for a test-launch of ICBMs were in the 'final stage', and president-elect Trump's response "it won't happen!" a Foreign Ministry spokesman warned, as cited by KCNA news agency, "the ICBM will be launched anytime and anywhere determined by the supreme headquarters of the DPRK."

The United States has warned North Korea against carrying out “provocative actions,” after Pyongyang said it was putting the final touches to a new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of reaching the US soil The Pentagon issued a statement on Sunday warning North Korea that it would face serious consequences if it makes good on its most recent threat of testing an intercontinental ballistic missile. Press TV reports: The warning came only hours after North Korean leader Kim Jong-un announced the regime’s plans to test the new ICBM.
