There is an odd feeling of Deja QEu this morning, when with two hours to go until the February payrolls, global stocks are modestly higher, US equity futures are likewise slightly higher on the back of a weaker dollar (or perhaps stronger Euro following a Market News report according to which the ECB may disappoint, more on that shortly), but it is gold that is breaking out, and after entering a bull market yesterday when it rallied 20% from its December lows...

Monsanto has filed a lawsuit against the State of California in a desperate attempt to hide the fact that their chemical herbicide Roundup causes cancer.  Monsanto is complaining that California’s demand that they list glyphosate, the main chemical used in Roundup, as a possible “carcinogen” on its labelling will put people off from buying it.

A video has been leaked featuring George Bush Sr. visiting NASA which inadvertently shows British Astronaut Tim Peak standing in front of a blue screen with a grid pattern on it. The screen appears to be between him and a film set showing the ISS.  This appears to be the first “behind the scenes” look at how the green screen is used when filming the “experiments” on the ISS, such as the water CGI shots, and other CGI overlay shots. A grid, or key points on a green screen is one way to do motion-overlay/image overlay in after effects.

At a campaign stop in Minnesota, Hillary Rodham Clinton made friends with a young Somali-american female voter who dared to question her on her past racial comments regarding race and diversity policy. There is no doubt about the deleterious effects Clinton’s past comments and actions have had on the Black community. And yet again, here is another glaring example of how Ms. Clinton looses her ability to keep calm when confronted with her own dishonesty. Oh, how very presidential. Not. Hillary’s response to the young woman?

While the FBI and Apple continue to fight in court over encryption and public privacy, Amazon has discreetly disabled encryption on all of its products so that consumers are no longer able to protect their data on Android-powered devices.  Amazon has ceased its support for device encryption on the latest version of Fire OS – an operating system used to power its tablets and phones – leaving them open for the government and hackers to easily access user data.
