Over the last few weeks, I have been discussing the ongoing consolidation process for the S&P 500 from the March highs. (For a review read: “Oversold Bounce Or Return Of The Bull,” and “Return Of The Bull…For Now.”) As the expected rally in stocks, and reversal in bonds, took shape as the S&P 500 was finally able to ratchet a record close at 2399.29. (Read: 10/2016 – “2400 Or Bust”)

With the 52nd Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting - dubbed the "Woodstock for Capitalists" which is "unique in corporate America, a celebration of the billionaire's image and success" - now in the history books, all that's left are the quotes and avuncular aphorisms.

The most effective way to change the world if you have kids is to treat them right. Everything could change in one generation if there were a radical shift in parenting.

Unfortunately, some indicators suggest things are getting worse. For instance, there has been an increase in kids hospitalized for attempted suicide or suicidal indicators.

Now we can just hope that parents are becoming more alert to the warning signs and are therefore properly identifying them early in order to prevent suicide.

Representatives from the Kushner family descended upon the Ritz Carlton in Beijing to pitch wealthy Chinese the EB-5 visa program aka crony capitalism.

Nicole Kushner, Jared's sister, was alleged to be in attendance.

The pitch was “Invest early, and you will invest under the old rules,” according to the Washington Post.

The event, which was closed to foreign press, was hosted by the Chinese company Qiaowai -- who is working on behalf of the Kushner family for one of their projects in New Jersey.
