Scientists Plan To Resurrect The Woolly Mammoth

Harvard scientists say they are on the brink of resurrecting the woolly mammoth which became extinct 4,000 years ago. They say the ancient beast will be recreated using genetic engineering where the ice age mammal’s DNA is spliced with an Asian elephant to create a hybrid. The scientist leading the “de-extinction” effort said a Harvard team is just two years away from creating a hybrid embryo.

CDC Cancels ‘Phony’ Climate Change Conference

The CDC has cancelled a conference on climate change scheduled for March, over claims by the Trump administration that there is no proof man-made global warming exists.  The health agency has refused to give the exact reasons for the cancellation, but according to a co-sponsor, the Centers for Disease and Prevention are concerned that the Trump administration’s clear belief that man-made global warming “is a crock” was enough for them to cancel the event. After nearly a year since the first protest camp sprung up in opposition to the Dakota Access Pipeline, it looks as if the Governor of North Dakota, Doug Burgum, has finally had enough and has signed an executive order demanding that protesters evacuate by February 22nd.

 

New Continent Discovered In South West Pacific

Scientists have discovered a new continent hidden in plain view in the Pacific Ocean right next to New Zealand. Zealandia, as it is formally called, is a continent with a 5 million square kilometre landmass that lays largely submerged in the south-west Pacific. The 11 geologists from New Zealand and Australia who discovered Zealandia say that it should be confirmed as earth’s eighth continent, after Africa, Asia, Antarctica, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America.
